Working with spreadsheets
Spreadsheets are a special case, because the model cannot reliably do math on its own (it pattern-matches numbers rather than calculating). The fix is the standing rule “use code”: have it write and run real code to compute, so the totals and formulas are actually correct.
After this lesson
- You know to always ask the model for code when doing math in spreadsheets.
- You can spot when a model gave a number without running code to verify it.
- You understand that spreadsheets require code to calculate totals correctly.
