The AI Landscape

Before you install anything or learn how any of it works, get the lay of the land. A handful of companies build almost every AI you will hear about: Anthropic makes Claude, OpenAI makes ChatGPT, Google makes Gemini, xAI makes Grok, and Meta gives its Llama models away.

After this lesson

You can name the major AI companies and the chat product each one ships.
You can say how Claude relates to ChatGPT (and Gemini to Grok) without mixing up companies and models.
